Milestone 6 (Backup Hyper-V)


For this milestone, I created a Hyper-V backup. The exclusion and inclusion options were given to me towards the end of the backup setup. The Backup Chain application simply allowed me to select one of my virtual machines that I have prepared in my Hyper-V manager. I selected my backup location.



 After the backup had finished, I began the restoration process for the virtual machine. I selected a file destination to place the restored virtual machine.This destination had to be created using a new folder since I did not have an empty location.






I was given a notification after the restoration process had completed saying that a copy of one of my virtual machines was created. This meant that the process was successful, but I had to see for myself if the virtual machine was really added into the Hyper-V manager.


After opening up the Hyper-V manager, I was able to see that a copy of one of my virtual machines was created. This confirmed success of the restoration process that I had initially performed for this milestone.

     During this IIS setup, I had the most trouble browsing the created website. I would originally browse it using the given url of testingsite.com, but this was not the correct url to use. It did not display the text that I had written. Instead, this url redirected me to a bunch of junk information and text. I had known a little bit afterward that I did something wrong in the setup. It was either that or I did not enter the correct url. Advanced settings of the IIS Site      After changing the url to localhost.testing.html, I was able to get my resulting message. Quality Assurance at a Chocolate Bar Factory

     If I were to own a small chocolate bar factory, I would make sure that all of the chocolate bars produced were of the utmost quality. This would be established by measuring each produced chocolate bar in different areas.      One of the measurements would include chocolate bar size. A given chocolate bar could not be too big or too small. A chocolate bar that is of invalid size would be discarded and replaced to ensure quality working time management. Another measurement would be the quality of the ingredients.      The ingredients of the chocolate bar cannot be unsafe or unconventional. They need to each be produced the same way in order to maintain flavor consistency. Any chocolate bar that does not meet the standards of the valid ingredients would be discarded and would cease to be produced by my company.
